About Me

About me.

I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Denver and Core Faculty member at the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research.

My current work addresses four related topics in metaphysics: (1) the metaphysics of intentional action, (2) conscious mental action, (3) the ontology of mind, and (4) the ‘no-self theory’ and ‘five aggregate’ ontology in classical Indian Buddhist thought.

I hold a B.A. and M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Toronto and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Columbia University in New York.  Before joining the faculty at the University of Denver, I held a postdoctoral teaching fellowship at Carthage College.

I hail from Toronto, Canada, the home of such luminaries as Margaret Atwood, Samantha Bee, Rob and Doug Ford, and Drake. I live near Olde Town Arvada, Colorado, with my wife, and the dozen or so trees in our yard.
